TURKU, Finland -- Finnish cuisine was knocked by French president Jacques Chirac and Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi. Maybe Finnish food lacked the sophistication of escargot, but I loved it--except for pickled herring at breakfast time, I refused to be so adventurous in the morning. Reindeer fillet for dinner, anyone?
